Invited as guest panelist, Mohammed Kateeb speaks at Fintech Islamic Webinar
Practically, Islamic fintech has become the fastest growing segment of financial technology. But when we consider how this compares to global fintech, Islamic fintech only accounted for 0.7% of global fintech transactions last year. Fortunately, a new generation of fintech companies are using technology to launch several socially-responsible initiatives and for the creation of innovative structures that align with sustainability and ESG efforts, ultimately supporting the needs of remote populations to execute financial transactions and to grow the sector.
As such, on 8th September the Group Chairman & CEO of Path Solutions, Mohammed Kateeb was invited to speak about ‘Islamic Fintech Developments and Green Finance’ where he shed light on how Islamic fintech combines Sharia compliance with digitally-delivered financial solutions and is well aligned with the SDGs. He also spoke about the importance of the digital revolution in taking global finance to the next level by helping it reach the 2030 SDGs more quickly. Kateeb emphasized that the majority of SDGs are addressed by the so called ‘Sustainable Islamic Digital Finance (SIDF)’ either directly or indirectly.
